Scrapbook, [ca. 1880-ca. 1889].

Contains 400 cut-out (scrap) pictures, most of which are embossed. The illustrations are grouped by subject and arranged carefully on each page. The sizes range from twelve inches to one-half an inch. Soldiers in medieval costume, flowers, flower arrangements, animals, birds, cherubs, comics, shells, costumes, heads and faces, houses, soldiers with cannons, a boy with a boat, a child playing cricket, pipers, rugby players, fruit, kittens, dogs, and war scenes are depicted. Also represented are scenes from a dog show, a visit to an aquarium, and a visit to an aviary. The dog show scrap was published by Raphael Tuck? it was designed in England and printed in Germany. The scrapbook cover is embossed with an illustration of two perched birds.
